The Price Of Greatness.

Jim Thorpe helped shape professional sport - but his own story was far from a victory lap. And some of its most extraordinary chapters happened after the final whistle.

We’re back with The Extraordinary Story Of Jim Thorpe | Part 2, and if Part 1 had you wondering how one person could achieve so much… we’re only getting started.

From the beginnings of the NFL to Hollywood, an unusual football team, and… a bear?! 🐻 Every time we thought we knew where Jim’s story was going, it took another turn.

But beyond the sporting achievements, we meet a man building a life after sport, advocating for Native American people, and navigating the gap between being celebrated and being supported.

Then there’s the unfinished business of those Olympic medals.

How do you fight for recognition when the world already watched you win? And who keeps fighting when you’re no longer here?

In this episode of Almost Pro Athletes In History, we follow Jim’s story beyond the playing field - and discover why the final whistle was nowhere near the end.

Expect plenty of disbelief, a little couch coaching, and a story that had us cheering one minute and completely outraged the next.
